Wedding Planning #1

Wedding Planning #1

As some of you maybe aware I recently got engaged! I thought I’d do a series of blog posts keeping you up to date on everything that is going on. I & my partner (Rob) have never wanted a long engagement so soon as he proposed I knew I wanted to get married next year (I can hear people shouting WHAT?!) but part of me doesn’t want to be talking about the wedding this time next year (as I don’t shut up about it atm) & not meaning this in an ‘horrible’ way but want to get it over and done with!

First thing we had to sort as soon as we got home was a venue & we had decided on getting married in a church & have the reception at The Hangar Kesgrave Hall. We are still currently in the process of finding a date (who knew a date would be so bloody difficult!) that the church & reception can both do. All we know is it will definitely be August/September 2016.

Next up the dress…

I went shopping & accidentally ended up in wedding dress shops with my mum & started trying some (thousands) of dresses on, we stumbled across a little boutique where I said ‘I’m not going to try any dresses on in this shop’ & what happened?! They had just had a delivery & Lauren (the shop owner. Website here) pulled this dress out I knew it was the one, went back two weeks later to try it on again & only went and bought it.

Bridesmaids.. Well here goes, I have 8 bridesmaids, yes you heard right 8 ( you all gasp.) I actually have two sisters, sister-in-law, two girl cousins & my friends, so why not just family you ask?! Well to be honest my friends are my family, they are the ones that have been there through thick and thin (cringe!) & actually its my wedding & my day so there you go. The problem is now the dresses.. My theme colours are grey, pink & white but still haven’t decided on what colours for dresses, pink or grey?! Please comment below what your thoughts are and some links for dresses (UK web address’ only please).

I still haven’t got my head round how much there is to do, florists’, photographer, band, invites, hair, make up, wedding cake  & what food?! It is never-ending, but my life saver has been pinterest, the bridesmaids & I set up a private pinterest board which we can all pin are own ideas too which really helps me out!

I will keep you updated with the wedding planning & please share your thoughts & views.

What do you enjoy most about going to a wedding?

I love the visible love between the wedded pair, the food, the attire and the dancing! And yes, the observed traditions!
