Faking it.

Now we are heading into the summer months in the UK we are still waiting for consistent sunny weather, will it ever happen? So I decided to crack out the fake tan, I have three holy grail products when it comes to tanning. My aims for a fake tan; easy application, quick drying and no streaks!

Depending on how I feel I usually fake tan in the evening, having a bath & exfoliate with the Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub, this stuff Is amazing, It is a very sweet product that honestly I just want to eat, which you can get here. The exfoliater I use on my face is Vitamin C Microdermabrasion blog post about it here. When I get out of the bath I then moisturise my elbows, ankles, knees, wrists and bikini area with whatever moisturiser I’m using at the time! Let that dry and then crack on with this amazing fella. This is the St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse in Medium which you can buy here,  it is cheap and easy! I use a mitt to apply the mousse all over my body in circular motions and then leave it on all night (please remember I am no expert at putting fake tan on & yes sometimes it does go wrong, just find your own technique that works best for you!), this does advice you to wash off within 4-6 hours but it doesn’t really develop that quickly on me but I think thats because I need the darker one (& probably will last long) but wanted to give this one a try first and I will apologies for the state of the bottle in the picture but as you can see it is well loved & used.

The morning after I will have a shower & I usually have a nice tan with a subtle glow, as mentioned above it doesn’t really last that long but to keep on top of it I use the Dove Summer Glow Medium To Dark, now please don’t be fooled by the ‘summer glow’ this can sometimes come out darker than the St Moriz, trust me, it is a brilliant product & very easy to apply, (just like a moisturiser) dries straight away & the smell is incredible, reminds me of digestive biscuits!

Another product that I just want to touch on is  the Garnier Summer Body Lotion, if you just want a subtle glow then I’d give this a try, I’m not the biggest fan of this product and doesn’t really work well on me and really can’t stand the smell but if you do want that subtle glow and not to harsh like the Dove one then this is just for you!  Let me know If you get on with this product!

& last of all, my face, I do use the St Moriz on my face which my skin isn’t bothered by & doesn’t break out although the Dove Moisturiser I’m not overly keen on putting on my face as it can go bit of a muddy colour. So I thought I would give Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream ago, my mum has used this for donkeys years & swears by it, if she wants a no foundation day then she puts this on in the morning & gives her that tanned glow look which it is just what you need. I usually apply this in the evening with my Dove moisturiser, I use my hands to apply this all over my face and neck and develops over night and to be fair is a brilliant match to my fake tan.

Although as most of you that fake tan will know your face tan rubs off  much more quicker than your body, so this is where the great Bourjois Paris BB Bronzing Cream comes in, I add a small pump to my foundation mix it in & bobs your uncle.. you have a tanned face! What more do you want?

What is your favourite Fake Tan?! Any top tips?!
