I get in from work, run upstairs, put the bath on and start my evening skincare routine. I take my eye makeup off first using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, when I first started using this I used it to take off all my make up, over time I noticed it dried my skin out, around my nose and chin which is the most annoying thing ever, I dislike having oily skin but how annoying is dry skin! Soon as i stopped using this on my skin and only using it for eye make up the dryness cleared up. This product is very quick and easy, it takes off all my mascara, eyeshadow and liner.
I then move on to removing my face makeup, I do this by using The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter, this my friend is AMAZING. You take a little bit out of the pot, rub it into your hands, it then turns into oil, just massage it into your skin and job done, your make up is gone, it takes every little bit of makeup off and leaves your face feeling fresh and clean. I have been using this since the camomile range came out in August last year and have got through 3 pots, it does last very well and I will not stop using it.
After doing everything I do in my morning routine (which you can read here ) I move onto a Serum Oil, no surprise that it is from The Body Shop, this is from the Vitamin E range. This is relatively new to my evening skin care routine, I know I have already used a serum but feel my skin is very dehydrated and feel when I use this I wake up with my skin feeling fresh and revitalised.
For a moisturiser I use The Body Shops Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment, this is for oily combination skin, it helps get rid of the excess oil aswell as moisturising and helping those dry areas. I have been using this for about a year now, this is a good product but wish I changed to a more dense moisturiser in the winter but now its becoming warmer I’m sure I will be falling back in love with this product.
Next up if i’m having a bad skin week and want those horrible blemishes to go away I use Dr Spot from Soap and Glory, I searched high and low for a good spot product and couldn’t find one that actually worked. Then I heard a YouTuber (can’t remember who) say the Dr Spot was really good. They were right, you put the treatment on the night before and don’t get me wrong the spot is still there in the morning, but this helps bring it out and get rid of it faster!
The eye cream I use was a one off, I was desperate to find a good eye cream. This one is from the Sainsburys Range ‘Dirty Works’. I hadn’t used an eye cream for ages before using this (oops) and really needed a cheap easy one (this was only £3.00!). To be honest I did see results straight away, puffiness went down and my eye bags faded but after a while have stopped noticing changes. When this is all gone I think I will spend out a bit more on a decent eye cream!
Every other evening I use Lush’s Popcorn Lip Scrub, this stuff is incredible and even better you can eat it after! (not sure how i feel about that, I do wipe mine off) It is made out of sugar so you could really make your own at home, but this does work. My lips don’t really get that dry due to moisturising every night and several times during the day but this just gives them a nice texture and get rid of all that dirt and grime from lip products that you may have put on during the day.
Last but not least my god send. I am in love with this product, it doesn’t smell the nicest, look the best but WOW it works. It is the famous Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Balm, I actually own the clear lipstick one which I bought in New York, this is almost gone so I will be repurchasing but probably the Balm (in the tube). This does everything you want and need to your lips, moisturisers, protects and makes them feel amazing. If my lips feel sore put this on and within the hour they are perfect again. I do not know what is in it, but hey it does that job bloomin’ well!
