Morning Skincare Routine For Oily Skin

Morning Skincare Routine For Oily Skin

Thought i’d kick off this blog starting with my skincare routine. I feel that there aren’t many blogs in the beauty world that mention and go into detail about how annoying and inconvienient oily skin is! I really struggled and still do to try and find the right skincare routine to keep my skin hydrated but at the same time keep that oily shine away. At the moment due to it becoming warmer my blemishes and oil is kept at bay, i feel this is due to my recently updated skin care routine. I have added things that i never thought you could use for oily skin! Lets crack on..

So when i wake up in the morning the first thing i do is wash my face using a cleanser, the cleanser i use is the Korres Sensitive Sage and Salicylic Acid Regulating Gel. I stumbled across this whilst doing my monthly shop and saw it was half price and it was for oily skin so i bought it, it’s a very good product and leaves a kind of film of gel to stop that oil coming through, it has kept those blemishes at bay which is a positive. On the other hand it does smell very old granny ish, and have to hold my nose when i wash my face which isn’t the best but it works! To be honest i don’t think i would buy it if it was full price!

The next step i use is a toner, i recently purchased  this toner La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion. I have heard everyone rave about how good La Roche-Posay skincare is, so when there’s 3for2 in boots why would I not get something from that range?! i LOVE it, it says it helps unblock and reduce pores and it’s right it sure does. This is such a good product, you can see such a difference when i use this toner and can feel it working (which i love that feeling). I feel my face feels so much brighter. Definitely a keeper!

Next a serum. A SERUM?! i thought why do i need a serum? When i had a consultation in Kiehls she mentioned you should have a serum in your routine morning and evening what ever your skin type. I wanted to buy the Kiehls one, powerful strength line-reducing concentrate but £49 for a serum that i didn’t really know whether would work was quite a lot. So instead i bought this one instead Vitamin E moisture Serum  from The Body Shop, which is currently on offer at £6.60. This stuff  is incredible, serums are supposed to create a sheet so your make up or any dirt does not get into your skin. I have really seen a difference to my skin since buying this, i got it about 2 weeks ago and my blemishes have really calmed down. This will be a keeper in my routine and maybe even buy the Kiehls one!

Last but not least a moisturiser, i have been using this for a while now, i use the The Body Shop Seaweed Day Cream. This cream is very good as a base for your makeup, keeps my skin hydrated but are the same time keeping my skin oil free throughout the day.

Have you used any of these products before? What skin type do you have?

I don’t know if it’s the case of the La Roche lotion you’re using at the moment, because I never tested this product, but I read on the web that toners tend to dry the complexion too much, so that an oily skin may get even worse. Have you ever tried instead a thermal water? It’s more delicate and provides the nourishment the skin needs everyday, without any kind of alcohol or aggressive components.

    Have a nice eve,

    Hi Hannah,
That’s great to hear you use the 4-step routine. I run a natural skincare company called
http://Www.mybodytemple.co.uk everything’s totally natural and made in England – I don’t use any nasty chemicals and my oily skincare kit has helped many oily skin sufferers. A lot of very cheap products use nasty preservatives which have been linked cancer.
I can send you a sample to try. Send me a private email on info@mybodytemple.co.uk with your address.
Meanwhile check out the website http://www.mybodytemple.co.uk
    Best of luck.
